Health equity matters

While HCPs and medical treatments play a critical role in health outcomes, they’re not the only factors. In fact, according to the 2022 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report, “Social determinants of health … may have a stronger influence on the population’s health and well-being than services delivered by practitioners and healthcare delivery organizations.”

As experts in the medical education space, we strongly believe in the importance of ensuring that HCPs are aware of how to better serve the needs of a diverse patient population—especially people living in medically underserved communities. When embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare, real change can make a real difference in the lives of many.

It’s not just something we say. It’s something we do.

Health equity can only take place when all of us in the healthcare community take action. At Avant Healthcare, that means ensuring our work represents the diverse patient populations impacted by the therapeutic areas we support. Toward this goal, we have worked with client partners on several key initiatives in dermatology, gastroenterology, women’s health, and hepatitis C (HCV). We are committed to dedicating the research, collaborative efforts, and time required to advance health equity across the medical landscape.
